VETRADENT FAQ

Where can I buy Vetradent® products?
Ask for Vetradent at your local veterinary clinic. Vetradent is available across Canada, exclusively at veterinary clinics.
Please note: While Vetradent may appear on third-party websites like Amazon, these listings are not currently affiliated with or managed by us. For guaranteed authenticity and product support, we recommend purchasing through your veterinary clinic.

Should I brush my pet’s teeth?
Oral care is important in dogs and cats for preventing long term consequences associated with bad dental hygiene. Brushing is the gold standard because it combines an active solution (toothpaste) with the mechanical action of brushing (toothbrush). If your pet is not amenable to having their teeth brushed, we have other solutions for you, like our Vetradent Water Additive, Dental Spray, Dental Wipes, Rawhide Dental Chews and Veggie Dental Chews . Is my pet’s bad breath normal?
No! Bad breath is a sign that something might be wrong. If your pet has bad breath, they should be seen by your veterinarian to determine the reason and the best solution. To find out more visit our page: Oral Health

Should I use all the Vetradent® products on my animal together?
Brushing an animal’s teeth is the gold standard of oral care and if your pet will allow this, we recommend regular teeth brushing. Brushing is not always an option for everyone. If this is not enjoyable or attainable for you or your pet then we have other options: Dental Wipes, Water Additive or Powder Water Additive, Dental Spray, Rawhide Dental Chews or Veggie Dental Chews. Any of these products can be used in combination and use in combination can increase efficacy. Ask your veterinarian for their recommendation on the protocol that is best for your pet!

Is Vetradent® Water additive okay for both my cat and dog to drink if they are sharing one bowl?
Yes, absolutely. Vetradent Water Additive is safe for both cats & dogs.

What if I don’t change the water daily? Does this mean that I must throw the water out and make a new dish daily?
For the best results, add Vetradent® Water Additive to your pet’s drinking water every time you refill the bowl. For optimal health, it is recommended to change your pet’s water every day. However, if you only change your animal’s water once every few days – then you can leave the formula in for a few days. It will not dilute the active formula or decrease the effectiveness of the product. Another option for pets who do not drink a lot of water is to use the water additive in combination with one of our other products. This will ensure that your pet is receiving the maximal benefit from the products.

Do I have to keep Vetradent® products in the fridge?
No. All of our products can be kept at any temperature that your pet prefers.

Will Vetradent® Water Additives work if my cat or dog drinks through a filtered fountain system?
We have tested our formula with a variety of filtration systems, even ones with a charcoal filter and the testing shows that water filtration systems do not affect the formula. Ensure that you are adding the correct ratio of additive to water before placing it into the fountain system.

Does the Vetradent® Water Additive Powder need to be mixed in boiling water?
No, hot tap water is enough to speed up the dissolution of the powder.

What should I do if my pet won’t drink water with the Vetradent® Water Additive added?
Most pets will drink water that is supplemented with Vetradent Water Additive. If they will not, stop the product for a couple of days and reintroduce the additive slowly with a reduced concentration (a ¼ of the recommended dose). This will allow your pet to get used to the taste. The amount can then be increased slowly until the recommended dose is achieved. If they still do not like it, switch to another Vetradent product.

What if my pet doesn’t like the Vetradent® product?
Most pets like at least one of the Vetradent products. However, on the chance that your pet does not accept it, Vetradent has a 100% palatability guarantee. Please contact the veterinary clinic where you purchased it to exchange it for another Vetradent product or receive a full refund.
